The small business buying guide

Compare AI search tools and implementation services.

This guide compares three buying routes: managed implementation, AI search software, and website platforms. The providers shown are selected examples, not a ranking or a complete market list.

Need someone to implement, research tools, or a website?

Discuss a managed service when you need agreed research, content and changes delivered. Choose AI search software when your team can operate its research and content workflow. Choose a website platform when you want to build and run the site. These purchases can work together.

FoundUp offers websites, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) audits, content creation and agreed AI visibility monitoring for small service businesses. It is a service with defined delivery responsibilities, not an interchangeable subscription for every product below.

02 / Managed implementation services

Compare the work a service will deliver.

These providers publish services that overlap with parts of a GEO project. Check their current scope, pricing, service region, and reporting terms directly. Their inclusion does not establish that they serve the same customers or budgets as FoundUp.

03 / Software and platforms

Capabilities matter. So does responsibility.

Software can support content creation and actions. Website platforms can include AI visibility tools. Confirm the plan, integrations and implementation support rather than assuming a capability is included or absent.

04 / A service engagement

Where FoundUp fits.
And what to confirm.

FoundUp can help organize and deliver agreed website and AI-search work for businesses without a dedicated marketing team. A rebuild is not automatically required.

Information checks, content preparation, site changes, approval, publication and monitoring belong in the proposal. A tool’s automation and a service provider’s responsibilities should be compared explicitly.

Ask for a written scope covering

  1. Research: services, markets, question set and evidence.
  2. Delivery: pages, content, technical changes, publication and any off-site work.
  3. Review: who checks business facts and approves changes.
  4. Measurement: platforms, questions, frequency, reporting period and answer records.
  5. Ownership: accounts, content, hosting and handover.
  6. Cost: fee, currency, revisions, recurring work and third-party charges.

05 / Evidence and method

How this shortlist was made.

Written by FoundUp, a provider discussed here. This is a comparison of documented workflows, not an independent product test or a ranking. Features and plans can change.

Our September 28, 2026 DataForSEO domain-competitor request for getfoundup.ai returned no items. A separate search-competitor request, based on eight editorially selected service and tool keywords, returned 30 domains from a larger candidate set. It included publishers, communities, products and agencies, not just direct competitors.

Go Fish Digital, Digital Elevator and Percepture came from that candidate set and have official materials supporting a short service comparison. Profound and Wix also appeared in the returned set. We retained the other four detailed guides for their specific buying tasks and search evidence, not because DataForSEO ranked them as FoundUp’s direct competitors.

The US English keyword sample estimated 1,600 monthly Google searches for “AI visibility tools”, and 210 each for “Profound alternatives” and “Peec AI alternatives”. These are topic estimates, not counts of the complete questions people ask ChatGPT or measures of provider quality. Keyword data methodology.

Official materials were reviewed on September 29, 2026. The three service samples do not yet establish the same customer size, service region or budget as FoundUp. We compare documented scope and buyer responsibilities; we have not bought these services or run paid-account product trials. Each detailed guide retains cases in which the named platform may be the better fit. Editorial approach and corrections.

06 / Common questions

Before you choose.

What is the difference between GEO software and a GEO service?

Software supplies a workflow for research, monitoring and sometimes content actions. A service supplies agreed delivery responsibilities. Both need accurate business facts and approvals. Ask who publishes each change and who maintains it.

Do I need a new website to improve AI visibility?

Not automatically. Audit the existing content, crawl access and customer journey first. Consider a rebuild when the existing setup cannot reasonably meet the agreed requirements.

Can any option guarantee AI recommendations?

Search and AI systems choose their own sources. Track technical access, indexing, mentions, citations and enquiries separately. A vendor score or one favourable answer does not certify overall GEO performance.

Which is the cheapest option?

Compare the complete scope, fee unit, staff time, review, development, integrations and ongoing maintenance. FoundUp publishes plan prices, but this guide does not claim it costs less than a named provider without matching the complete scope.
